This series of chairs is where it all started.
I’ve been a Crescent City fire fighter since 2009 and have been exposed to many burned things. I gather scorched car parts from Almonaster Boulevard junk yards. I acquire the damaged street signs from the city. The idea of taking remnants of the high-speed American automobile culture and re-purposing them as stationary objects are what interests me most.
This furniture is surprisingly comfortable due to pre-designed ergonomics. The vehicle engineers created a seat meant for sitting for hours. I reap the benefits of their research with a seat back and bottom that conforms to the human anatomy.
All of these pieces are one-of-a-kind, yet similar forms and materials can be re-created upon request.
